A Study of the Impact of Computational Delays in Missile Interception Systems

چکیده
Most publications discussing missile interception systems assume a zero computer response time. This paper studies the impact of computer response time on single-missile single-target and multiplemissile multiple-target systems. Simulation results for the final miss distance as the computer response time increases are presented. A simple online cooperative adjustment model for multiple-missile multiple-target system is presented for the purpose of studying the computer delay effect.

Building a Persian Gulf Missile Defense Shield and its Impact on Regional Security: (2001-2017)
The gradual development of the US missile defense shield from Europe to the Persian Gulf region over the past decade and the deployment of radar components and defenses of this project, both in the Persian Gulf region and in its floating zone, have plenty implications for regional and international systems and has aggravated the fragile security of the Persian Gulf region. Some issues such as t...
متن کاملApplication of Markov Processes to the Machine Delays Analysis
Production and non-productive equipment and personnel delays are a critical element of any production system. The frequency and length of delays impact heavily on the production and economic efficiency of these systems. Machining processes in wood industry are particularly vulnerable to productive and non-productive delays. Whereas, traditional manufacturing industries usually operate on homoge...
متن کاملA Genetic Algorithm for Mid-Air Target Interception
This paper presents a computational model that uses a modified Genetic Algorithm (GA) approach, to provide more accurate results for mid-air targets interception. The proportional navigation laws that have been practiced for many years for target interception have been deployed in this research. A revised GA is formulated to determine the optimal interception point by modifying the heuristic cr...
متن کاملThe role of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content in an arid rangeland (Khabr National Park, southeast of Iran)
Abstract The impact of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content is determined in an arid rangeland in Khabr National Park in south-east of Iran. Litter weight sampling is done by 90 square plots, each 1 m2, that are randomly placed within site. After determining the intensity of a typical storm of the region (20 mm/h), the rainfall duration requir...
متن کاملA Systems Dynamics Model for Project Management systems of Project-Based Organization
It is obvious that the success of a project-based organization is dependent on its projects. A variety of tools such as the project excellence model, project management maturity models, the earned value method, have been developed in this regard, but there are still delays in projects because the projects have dynamic nature with non-linear relationships and feedback processes during the projec...
